Fantastic fde finish. High quality upper from aero you will not be disappointed. 10.5 inch barrel is a great length for an ar pistol build and fits my length of pull comfortably with a SBA3 brace. Add a vg6 break and you will be consistently staying on target.

Had this on back order for the longest time but when I received this upper it exceeded my expectations. The fit and finish is first rate and they even included the custom wrench for the barrel nut. I would highly recommend this upper and would certainly buy it again.

I run this upper on a Spikes lower (registered SBR) with Maxim PDW stock, a heavy JP captured buffer and an SLR linear hybrid comp. I run a Trijicon MRO on top. It runs like a charm. Brass throws at 3 o'clock. No massive concussion to the shooter. No FTE or FTF. It will shoot 3 MOA out to 200 yards (not had a chance to go longer). No bullet yaw at all. If you read horror stories about problems with ultra short 556 rifles, you will not have those problems with this set up. I chono'd 55gr FMJ at 2250 at the muzzle. BTW: it throws ALOT of flame out front. Don't use a hay bail for a rest.

I recently ordered the Aero Precision 18" M4E1 complete upper. It was out of stock when I initially ordered it. Rob, the sales rep who worked with me, was amazing. He answered my questions and was helpful all through the process of ordering, restocking, and final delivery. This upper unit is perfect. I had already ordered a complete lower from Aero Precision and the upper was a perfect fit. It's tight and looking forward to many years of use. Glad I went wit the 18" barrel. I'm planning on fitting it out now with red dot, back-up sights, etc. Can't go wrong with Aero Precision and Optics Planet. Customer service is fantastic.

This upper is exactly what you’d expect it to be. I got the Fde model and the coating on it is really tough and durable. When I received the upper I wasn’t sure if it came with the gen 1 or gen 2 upper receiver, wasn’t a big deal at all to me but it did come with the gen 2 with the slight angled side giving it a more tactile look. Really awesome product, I am very happy.

I bought 10.5 and have it suppressed. The rails are ported for gas release which makes a nice difference when shooting. Very high quality upper. Aero is essentially the best you can get with some of the “top” brands asking $1200 for an upper with 1 year lead time. I have some of these brands and shot others and tbh there’s no difference in quality, You're just paying for a name on the side. If you’re looking for a high end upper look no further
