Cold hammer forging differs from other common barrel manufacturing processes. Rather than drilling a blank and using cutters, buttons, and reamers to machine the chamber and rifling into the barrel, a cold hammer forged barrel is made by forming the barrel around a mandrel that has the rifling inclusions precision ground into it. This process is referred to as cold hammer forging because the process is done at room temperature and the metal is not heated. This is my first aero product, and i could not be happier. This upper is gorgeous!! The barrel on this particular model is CHF nitride coated. The newest pro models are CHF crome lined. I had to do a lot of digging but eventually got the low down on this models barrel, just in case anyone was wondering. The BCG on these pro models are very well made, particularly the coating on the bolt is very high quality. I highly recommend it!! It's perfect!!

Got this at a really good price feom optics planet. This pro series is every bit as good as my daniel defense and BCM. Bought to build what we call a NJ OTHER firearm. The fit,finish and accuracy is spot on. I actually like this better than my daniel defense. Definitely a premium upper.
