Details, details, details. Anyone who's become addicted to building AR's knows that details make the difference. Function is always first and asthetics second. This high quality piece gives you both. There's plenty of room for expansion in the magazine catch design market IMO. Just bought another one of these for my next project:)

The Battle Arms Development AR-15 Cast Enhanced Magazine Catch has a straight flute that I color filled for an added unique touch. Its nice to find common lower receiver parts that are a little different than their competitors. I highly recommend this product.

This Little part is awesome. Really adds a nice style to my build that I wanted. Compared to a milspec part it is worth it. It’s affordable and with style. The fit is true. It came well oiled and not one flaw visible.

The slot in the side or "fluted" magazine catch looks really nice in the AR pistol I'm building. It's supposed to reduce weight, but the weight difference is negligible. I mainly got it for the looks. I paired this with Battle Arms Development's enhanced mag release button. Fit and finish is perfect.Highly recommended.***Note that this doesn't come with the spring or the mag release button. You'll have to get those separately***

The negative reviews on this piece seem to revolve around it being shorter than Mil-Spec. That is the point. This mag catch is made for larger or blind-hole buttons like Forward Controls EMR-HC, etc. to ensure that they don't protrude over the fence. It will pull the button in tighter so do not use this with a standard button unless you want it recessed very tight.

After many years of building, I have failed to appreciate the mil spec mag catch that comes in most lower parts kits. I've had some break, be broken out of the box, rust, rough threading, and so on. Plus, if you like using billet mag release buttons that dont thread all the way through, the standard mil spec will stick out pretty far. These BAD Enhanced Catch's are shorter, smoother, and machined better. My only gripe is the inconsistency with the finish on some of them, but it's still a far better option in my opinion. Worth the money.
