Marlin Evolution Marlin981T Bolt Short Action Tube Feed Factory Barrel Channel Stock – Boyds Short Action Evolution series presents a channeled stock suitable for Marlin 981T Bolt Short Action rifles with factory barrel extensions installed. These stocks are constructed of top grade carbon steel and are hand deburred and chamfered before a stress-relieving process. They have a slightly wider usable head room and feature a recoil lug with a grooved & dipped hammer plate with a swivel stud. Marlin 981T Bolt Short Actions are machined with a steel reciever with a contoured shoulder similar to that of a handgun. The butt plate features a slanted entry for the thumb safety and a revised ejection port with two stainless steel clamps. These stocks require that the recoil lug be shaved and filed. Stocks must be ordered with a bedding block installed.
