The CMC Triggers Enhanced Bolt Carrier Group BCG is designed for shooters who demand superior performance weapon components in the heart of their firearm. CMC Triggers manufactures the highest quality firearms components in the industry. Carrier Assembly: The flared rear of the enhanced bolt carrier is designed to reduce carrier tilt/cant during recoil and increasing reliability by strategically relocating key bearing surfaces. The CMC enhanced carrier has fewer points of contact resulting in less friction area and the increase in mass ensures proper gas pressures and increases dwell time, thus improving extraction while shooting suppressed or short-barreled rifles (SBRs) Case-hardened 8620 steel (complete care is taken during the heat treat process, so as to not harm the metal) 3 forward ports, enlarged to allow over pressure to escape Optimized for suppressor use Black Nitride Finish 4130 Steel, attached with Grade 8 hardware, torqued and properly staked into a milled valley around a fully encased ejection port area, for added strength and rigidity. Hardened 4340 cam pin. Mil Spec firing pin made of 8740 steel, center-less ground and Hard Chrome coated. Bolt Assembly: The Bolt is true Mil Spec dimension and external surfaces are CNC ground after heat treat for a precision fit. These bolts are held to the highest possible tolerance possible. The trumpet area behind the gas rings, where carbon normally collects, is precision CNC Ground after heat treatment, to ensure as smooth of an area as possible, easing clean up, and longevity. 9310 Case Hardened Steel All Bolt components Shot Peened & Black Nitride coated 4340 Steel, Manganese Phosphate coated Magnetic Particle Inspected (MPI) and High Pressure Tested (HPT) Black Nitride low friction coating Mil Spec Extractor Spring & O-Ring BLACK NITRIDE is a process commonly referred to anonymously with SBN (Salt bath nitride) and sometimes QPQ (quench polish quench). All of these are a form of nitrocarburizing which is a chemical hardening of steel in short. Black Nitride Finish Benefits: Increased wear resistance Improved fatigue strength Better corrosion resistance Withstand corrosion per ASTM spec B117 Improved lubricity Enhanced cosmetic appeal Better corrosion protection at equivalent or lower costs than hard chrome nickel plating Specifications for CMC Triggers Enhanced AR Bolt Carrier Group (BCG): Manufacturer: CMC Triggers Color: Black Finish: Nitride Fabric/Material: Hardened 8620 Steel Bolt Material: 9310 Steel Carrier Material: 8620 Steel Package Contents: CMC Triggers Enhanced AR Bolt Carrier Group

This is not the most expensive BCG I've purchased but it easily matches that Lantac model in very detail. The Fit & Finish of this CMC 308 BCG is incredible. I do agree with another reviewer that the Nitride coating is somewhat dry feeling. From my experience, most BCGs need that thin layer of lube so it cycles cleanly and this model was no exception. This massive BCG matched up perfectly with my Criterion 16" Chrome-Lined barrel. This model is little more expensive than other similar models but its enhanced design is what got my attention. I also watched a few reviews of the CMC 5.56 BCG and its performance also reinforced my purchase. FWIW, I'm also using a CMC Gas Tube, CMC Gas Block and now a CMC BCG. All of these components are extremely high quality. I couldn't be happier.

These BCGs are extremely high quality. Even for the price, know that what you're buying is an enhanced carrier with some added features over other carriers. The only downside I'd say is that it's not the slickest finish out of the box, like say a NiBo but the machining quality is impeccable.

I just ordered a second bcg for my other sbr. I have run one of these through all of my shorties to test it. This drastically reduces back pressure and gas to your eyes when running suppressors. I would not get this for a full size rifle with a mid length gas, kinda under gases the gun could create some reliability issues. However this is flawless in my 10.5, and 11.5 guns. The nitride on this is super smooth, not as smooth as a good nib bcg. Really smooth due to the reduction of contact points. Honestly my favorite bcg. I love my spikes, and fail zeros. This is a cut above for anything short.

I bought the AR10 BCG. At the time, it was $200, in stock, and from a company I've heard of and use. I wasn't able to find any reviews on the AR10 version, probably because it's so new, but I based my decision on the reviews of the AR15 version, and took a chance. I will say the fit and finish was great, but this is optimized for suppressors. Out of 100 rounds I had maybe 12 feed and fire. Every other round would short stroke the BCG and fail to feed the next. I tried different ammo, same thing. The extra gas port on the bolt winds up undergassing the system. I have since replaced it with a standard Ballistic Advantage BCG and it runs fine. I understand the suppressor oriented, but it should be able to run with or without, as the AR15 does, and being that I can't own a suppressor in my state, this was pointless. If you're solely running suppressed this will probably work fine.

Quality manufacturing from CMC. Well-designed with the perfect shape and weight balance for the AR. Also, the black nitride coating holds up well. Haven't tried it with a suppressor yet, but supposedly it's "optimized for suppressor use". Worth the price.

Seems to be a solid piece of kit. I have not tested it as my build is incomplete. However, the ejector is very strong and the BCG slides very smoothly in the upper even with no oil. Some edges are rather sharp. Not sure they would cut the BCG feels less refined for it.
