If your wanting a quality rail for your ar-15 this would be the one. Buy with confidence it will look great on your weapon. The handguard really makes any ar-15. And this one will make yours look a step up among others that you come in contact with.Pros: Easy install, well made quality product, free floatingCons: Little pricey but worth it for its ease of installation and looks

This is the best drop-in free float rail you can buy for any carbine length ar15 with a fixed front sight that you don't want to remove. No gunsmithing, no cutting or removal of anything except your old plastic handguard. Almost every other free float rail out there requires the removal of the delta ring and underlying components, though recently I did see some Troy rails available now with the same no gunsmithing claims. It's too bad DD decided to discontinue this item. Hopefully they got an improved version, e.g. rails extended a few more inches to cover the A2 front sight, such as seen with the Samson Star series rails. But Samsons' need gunsmithing.

Can’t say enough about this pic rail. The craftsmanship is spot on , easy to instal , get to keep my fsb and have my barrel freefloat, like that it is thin and you can put your whole hand around it , very comfortable with the rail guards in hand , has a qd mount built in . Was going to order a Kac pic rail but wasn’t in stock and have read great reviews on this product . I’m happy with the purchase looks great on my rifle .

I'm an engineer, so I was a little skeptical of a 2 piece free-floated rail. However, it received good reviews on multiple sites, so I thought I would give it a try. Also, with Optics Planet's great return policy, I figured I was safe either way :)I'm happy to say I was not disappointed. I could not tell from the pictures, but there are actually 4 set screws that hold it in place, and the screws themselves are pretty beefy. Once I had it installed, it is very solid. I torqued on it from several directions and IT DOES NOT MOVE! I'm really quite pleased with the quality. Also as a bonus, which I didn't see in the description, it came with 3 rubber/plastic Picatinny rail covers. They seem to be the same as the Magpul ones, which are usually around $10-12 each. The one suggestion that I would have is to maybe include a longer hex wrench (6-7 inch) because the set screws were a little tough to get to. I could only turn them a quarter of a turn at a time because of the angle. That is really minor issue, and I'm being really picky, but it would have made the install go a little quicker.

I received what was supposed to be a NIB DD Omega Rail. The rail is missing 2 mounting screws. Has faded T rail as well as DD logo marks. The interior box had an opened small box inside marked DD. contacting Optics planet to remedy the issue.
