The Daniel Defense Rail Interface System (RIS II) was designed at the request of the United States Special Operations Command (SOCOM) for the SOPMOD II program. SOCOM had a specific requirement for a free float M203 solution and Daniel Defense responded, designing a revolutionary product to meet the government’s need. The Daniel Defense RIS II allows the individual operator to free float the M203 grenade launcher without additional parts. As important, special tools are not required to mount the M203 grenade launcher. This was accomplished by integrating all of the needed parts to free float the M203 into the rail itself. The Daniel Defense RIS II is to be used in conjunction with the MK12 Low Profile Gas Block. the very BEST rail system on the market! you can never go wrong with Daniel Defense. you may pay a bit more, but you will be very satisfied with it. best of all, I got it installed under 30 minutes. installation was very easy.Pros: Very Easy to install.Cons: None that i can see.

The Daniel Defense RIS II is an absolutely solid rail for your AR. Once it’s on, it’s on and not moving around. Yes it’s heavier than your current m-lok rail but still nothing beats a solid quad rail in terms of rigidity.

Great product pretty easy to install. Be careful nubs if your still wearing the M4 front sight block this has to be removed. Plan ahead for removing your front sight block and og barrel nut. The rail is solid, I mean it’s a Daniel Defense.. But I certainly prefer the MidWest T rail over this. Considering whats out there now for quad rails some are much more complexed T7071’s that fetch a far less price. Other than wanting to keep My 6920 time period consistent. I much prefer the Midwest T rail overall. Again I bought this for a Colt to keep consistent for a time period build.

I love my ris 2 rail. It looks great has great lock up and was lighter than I expected. My only problems were that the barrel nut wrench barely fit onto the barrel nut so when installing that I was stripping out the barrel nut lugs a little and the screws that hold the two rail sections together can strip kind of easy.

If you are looking at this rail, chances are you already know of its reputation. It's a rock solid rail that lives up to the hype. It's an older design obviously and it's larger and heavier than mlok rails, but it has ZERO flex and is built like a tank. If picatinny is your thing you will not be disappointed in this rail.

For does wanting to build an m4a1 style rifle, this is a must. Fit perfectly with heavy barrel and mk12 gas block. Installation is not hard.
