The new Daniel Defense pistol grip is an improvement to the old standby A2. We designed our grip with ergonomics and controllability in mind. Our grip shares the angle of the classic 1911 pistol for the most natural hand position and comfortable feel. This pistol grip incorporates an oversized trigger guard covering the gap between grip and lower receiver which can wear on the shooters hand and easily accommodates for gloves. Installation is simplified by the fact the integral trigger guard doesnt require a roll pin so there is a reduced chance of damaging the lower receiver. A soft touch overmolding section enhances grip, wet or dry. it doesn't work for me.I love everything about this pistol grip — the shape, the grip angle, the grip surface. It's just $exy!However, my finger enters the trigger guard too far, and the middle part of my finger is on the trigger instead of the end (intermediate phalange instead of distal phalange).
Carpenterminator –
I have a couple of these grips- the only components that I've purchased from Daniel Defense. I like the looks and the ergonomics, I just wonder why they haven't included a removable storage lid on the bottom- other grips have this, which is a great place to stash a couple of rounds or CR123 batteries. This grip has a press-in flat lid with a garish DD logo on it ('comes off with steel wool), and is hollow, but not setup for storage. Maybe this feature is patented and licensed by the companies that offer it, such as Bravo Company.

This is my favorite grip for my M4’s. The feel just seems to fit my hand better than some of the more generic grips such as the various magpul options. Those are great as well but I see this as a step up.

On the majority of my rifles I went with the hogue grips in the past. This time I went out of the limb and went with Daniel Defense grip, and couldn't be happier. Perfect amount of grip, and comfort. The over-molded palm section is the perfect amount of bump for comfort and aesthetically one of the best looking grips. I would highly recommend these grips.

Grip choice/comfort are a personal preference so I didn't ding this based on the fact that I prefer the Hogue rubberized on initial impression. I added this (and a DD vertical forgrip) mainly for aesthetics on a DD upper w/ a mismatched lower.The DD grip is a little smaller width (same length I believe) than the Hogue and a little less 'tacky' or sticky (which could be a good or bad thing depending on intended use). Even though the upper I have has the brown DD color on the rail I went with the black grip and forgrip and it helps to coordinate everything in a subtle way. What really matters if the product will work and this definitely will, but I may switch over to the Hogue at some point once I spend more time with it. DD stuff is quality albeit a little bit more $$$ than I think they might be worth which is why I took a star. JD
