I purchased this Faxon Barrel from Opticsplanet and received it in 4 days. I put the barrel on one of my first ar 15s a Ruger 556 and was amazed by the accuracy I have gotten out of it. I have tried 5 different loads through it. My best two five shot groups came from Hornady 55 gr vmax which was .61 and Barnes 556 70 gr ttsx .88. It even shot the “range” ammo well I got a 1 5/8 inch group out of Remington 55 gr fmj bucket of bullets ammo. I shot 20 rounds in about 15 seconds and grabbed the exposed part of the barrel and it seemed to me that the heavy flute on the barrel does a great job with barrel heating. The mid length gas system is noticeable smoother than carbine length. My only regret is that I wish I had purchased the 18 inch barrel instead of the 16 inch barrel. I definitely recommend this barrel!!!!

I BOUGHT THIS FOR A SMITH AND WESSON M&P AR15 BUILT. TOOK IT TO ZERO OUT MY RED DOT. THE ACCURACY I WAS GETTING OUT OF THIS WITH WOLF 223 GOLD AMMO WAS ABOUT 1 INCH GROUPING AT 50 YARDS. 100 YARDS I WAS ABLE TO GET ABOUT 1.5 TO 2 INCH GROUPING. 200 YARDS AVOUT 2 TO 3 INCHES. 300 YARDS OPENED UP A BIT FROM 4 TO 6 INCHES. I WAS STILL HITTING MY TARGET. 400 YARDS DIDN'T REALLY CHANGE MUCH. OVER ALL IM HAPPY WITH THIS BARREL.

Installation was easy. Head spacing pass with gauge. Cleaned it before i first fired it. Machining was excellent. Insede the barrel as well. I like the way it groups really good accuracy. Cools down quickly because of the fluted.

This barrel is ideal in SPRs that are meant to be carried. It's really lightweight for the profile and dissipates heat very well.Accuracy hasn't been crazy, but it IS shooting M193 at a consistent 1.5-2.0 MOA. That's pretty good.IMI 77grs have been 1.2-1.5 MOA which is a bit surprising.Barrel arrived with some discoloration on the exterior – not sure what it was. Almost looked like oxidation. Also had a yucky oil slathered on it.Faxon is still shipping their barrels in plastic bags! Surely a cardboard box with .10c of foam padding isn't out of budget?

This is not what I would consider a “MATCH” barrel. It’s decent enough though where I believe most would be happy. This is the 3rd Faxon barrel I’ve had any personal trigger time with. Two in 20 & one in 18. I’m surprised that they all seemed to like the lighter loads. Just keep in mind there’s other commercial barrels that justify the work match in their description.

Bought this barrel to complete a build. Barrel is mounted to a Wilson combat upper. Have about 250 through it, and am very happy so far. Fit and finish excellent, and sub moa at 100 and 200 yds with M855 today.
