The Super Modular Rail (SMR) MK8 M-LOK is Geissele ultra-modular model. The SMR MK8 is one of the first AR Handguards & Forends to utilize the Magpul M-LOK technology, designed to give the user full modularity while maintaining a strong and rigid platform. It uses Magpul’s M-LOK technology at the 3, 6, and 9 o’clock positions and the upper 45-degree quadrants. Maximum venting at the lower 45-degree quadrants creates maximum heat dissipation and dramatically reduces the rail’s overall weight. The SMR MK8 is versatile and modular, allowing users to tailor their platform to their unique needs. The SMR MK8 also features Geissele’s proprietary 2-inch long barrel nut. This increases the surface contact where the rail interfaces with the receiver and creates a platform that can be trusted to be straight and true the entire length of the free-float rail. Great handguard. Easy mounting. It’s rock solid and has held up well after a about a year. It’s a little on the heavy side and not quite as ergonomic as something slimmer like a bcm. Highly recommended

Worth every penny. The rail has a super snug fit and is durable. Just like every other Geissele product, you can expect nothing but perfection from this rail from the fit, to the FDE coating. The rail shaved atleast 4 ounces off my AR.

I paired this upper with a 10.3 inch barrel and love how it turned out. It has a generous amount of barrel sticking out from the upper (about 0.3 inches) if you choose to attach a suppressor. Rock solid attachment to my upper. Just make sure you have Giessele’s barrel nut wrench adaptor!

The look and feel are of premium quality. The M-LOK design allows for multiple accessory bases. It’s design stands out on my 300 BLK build, even covered with attachments this handguard makes itself known. Would highly recommend if you’re looking for a premium handguard!

This is a great quality piece. My only negative comment is the fact I used a billet upper and lower receiver. The hand rail had two tabs that stuck out for securing purposes. I ended up having to use a dremel tool to cut the tabs off the brand new rail. This was after I spoke to Geisselle. They suggested the same. I wish I had known Geisselle rails only fit mil-spec receivers, not billet.
