I've used three of these upper receivers on builds, and, like any other upper receiver on the market, you have to pair these with the right lower receiver; some will be extremely tight and some will be a little bit sloppy, however, I've noticed some slight inconsistencies in the measurements of the pivot pin lugs, which can be easily corrected with a little bit of paint (I really like AlumaHyde – do it right and it comes out great).I've found these to fit very well with Broken Arms (AKA Broken Armory), and Red Horse Arms, and Range Tool lower receivers (Note: this is where I discovered the slight inconsistencies with the machining of these uppers while testing fit with several brands lowers, yet easily fixed). After putting on a coat of AlumaHyde on the one upper receiver that needed it, of the two uppers I bought, all play went away and it is about as tight a fit as you can dream for.I very much wish I could post a photo with my review so you could see the fit I got with a Red Horse Arms lower receiver (hopefully Optics Planet will start carrying both of the aforementioned manufacturers' lower receivers.I very much do recommend these for your billet builds (forged with billet just looks funny to me.

Doesn't fit most common handguards, and doesn't even fit in a armorers block. Avoid this because you will just end up taking everything off of it anyway. I tried to fit an aero and a midwest industries handguard and neither are compatible.

This build is for my girl, and her favorite color is purple, luckily Guntec makes a ton of purple anodized products. The Guntec upper is mated to a 17 Design lower I got from PA, no issues. The upper and lower seat perfectly and zero issues with the take down pins lining up. Zero spacing with the hand-guard and the upper. I wish I could upload some pictures gives you an idea of how well everything looks and fits together. Already have another Guntec upper on order for an OD Green build.

The upper was solid and the finish was nice, hence the 2 stars and not 1. I tried matching it up to a spikes forged lower, a spikes billet lower, an aero forged lower, an anderson forged lower, and a bcm forged lower. It was loose was the understatement of the year. It fired about 90% of the time and got all kinds of compliments at the range until it started clanking back and forth like a shaky old box fan missing screws. Never tried to shoot groups on it, it caused me to have trouble hitting 6" plates. I switched to a aero precision upper and the gun tech now sits in a box. Thought about building using it with a gun tech billet lower. Yeah they don't make those. Why make a billet receiver without the mate?

I installed this upper with a Wylde fluted barrel, FN lower this turned out to be a very expensive build. When completed, this thing ran like a sewing machine and never missed a beat. The bolt carrier matched right up to the upper with no issues. The only thing I did run into when installing the buffer tube, the upper is su much thicker I had to shave a bit off the threads so the upper had clearance to close. That was all. Other that that, great looking product and well built.

Great fit and finish. Billet is very nice and considered high end. I have used many other uppers in the past, but this was my first Guntec brand, very impressed. You will not be disappointed with this upper.
