Purchased a Magpul PRS stock for my HOWA .308 and needed to change out the buffer tube. This fit like a glove with the rifle and the stock. Great product and extremely easy to install. As always Opticsplanet had fast shipping and excellent customer care.

It isn't long enough to hold in the buffer retainer. Useless pos.

While this part is not the fancy high end buffer tube, that some sell, it does the job and is inexpensive. Some parts on a rifle simply have to do their intended job, with no issues. They don't have to be a high end, super expensive part to do that. This part fills that category. I've bought a few of these Buffer tubes, and with the money that I saved on buying an expensive buffer tube, I used the extra money to buy parts that do matter, like triggers and such. Spend your money where it matters most.

Bought this and installed in a AR10 build. After first range trip, noticed a chunk of black metal in the trigger assembly, and the buffer had trouble cycling and would stick. It was catching on these pits/cavities in the tube. After removing the buffer, I noticed a large chunk of the inside of the buffer tube missing that had broken off. I emailed JE machine about this, they sent out a replacement. This one had even more cavities/pitting on the inside of the buffer tube. I emailed them again and told them to pick a good one to send me this time, this third one was still effected. I called/emailed again and they said turns out their whole inventory was effected in this was and it would be at least a month before the could send out a better tube. Thankfully, Optics planet refunded my purchase for the tube even though it was after the return date after I described what had happened.

Fits up great, springs and buffers run smoothly in it. If you like your threaded end to cover the buffer retainer plunger, it does hold it in place, yet if you have a sloppy fitting buffer retainer plunger, the plunger might ( might!) be able to work past this buffer tube end just saying.
