The continuous top rail allows you to mount iron sights, optics and any other accessories without additional rail sections. The M-Lok system allows users to customize the hand guard with rail sections and direct mount accessories. The hand guard is constructed of 6061-T6 aircraft aluminum and finished with a Mil-Spec type III hard coat black anodizing. The MLA has a precision bore to fit the proprietary barrel nut which removes any unwanted play and ensures an exact fit!! Installation requires a 1-1/8″ crows foot wrench (not included) for the barrel nut; standard AR-15 barrel nut wrenches will not work with this hand guard system. The hand guard is secured to the barrel nut by 2 10/32 allen screws, stainless steel key seat lock, and anti-slip helicoils. I had to send it back color looked blueish so it stuck out like a sore thumb. To each is own but just wasnt right for me and my build went with a slr instead spend the extra bones you wont regret it or special ops tactical javelin on my 300 7.5

Extremely lightweight and soild. The machining on this hanguard is elite. Now I want a reciever set from this company. And only 1 week from order to delivery. Hopefully op will pick up more gear from jl billet.

The pictures don't do this handguard justice. It is so light and it really gave my new build the look I was hoping for. Excellent quality. I have it on my rifle with a APOC CHF 16" mid length gas barrel with a .750 gas seat and the Odin Works low pro adjustable gas block and it fits perfect around everything. Very Happy!

Pros: SUPER light, sturdy, good looking, no indexing of barrel nut Cons: It looks like JL uses a pin that goes in between the upper and the hand guard to prevent the hand guard from turning. There is a small hole tapped in the upper that the pin goes into. So if you’re not using a JL upper, the only thing that prevents the the hand guard from spinning is the clamping force of the two screws at the rear. Cranked it down, hasn’t turned yet. Unless you’re diving on it, it will probably hold true.

Overall a solid handguard that is lightweight and has a different look to it than most rails on the market. The fitment to the barrel nut was tight but not a thermal fit. You will need to purchase a 1-1/8" crows foot wrench, if you do not already have one, to tighten the barrel nut. I used this rail for a 13.7" build with a Ballistic Advantage Barrel and a SA adjustable gas block. Everything fit together perfectly, only issue I saw was if you run a SA Adjustable gas block the M-Lok section directly underneath is so close that the treads of your M-Lok attachment will touch the gas block.
