The Scarging handle fits both 5.56 and 7.62 NATO versions of the SCAR, and installs in seconds. The radius-faced design, and swept geometry of the Scarging Handle allows the user to achieve a more solid grasp when manipulating the bolt. This allows for easier charging, clearing of stoppages, and administratively locking the firearm bolt to the rear. The shooter can choose between left or right side installation to match their hand dominance, and can rotate the Scarging Handle to either downward or upward sweep. The downward sweep protects the hand from busted knuckles due to optics mounts by keeping it down and away from the weapons top. This also has the added benefit of additional leverage gained, and increased grasping surface for larger hands or when wearing gloves. The Scarging handle can alternatively be installed with the curve upward, which provides the user a slick side receiver to prevent snagging or SCAR Thumb (i.e. having the reciprocating charging handle strike your hand when using a magwell hold or unconventional shooting method). All Scarging Handles are constructed of low carbon 1080 steel, and finished with a durable black, mil-spec finish. The accessory protrudes less distance from the receiver than the factory unit, and is profiled to be snag-resistant when wearing body armor or other gear. This charging handle is a great addition to the SCAR. I still reversed the scope mounts to the right side of the weapon, but it has a much more prominent grip and feel to it than the factory. The price is also on par for a decent AR charging handle.

I have two SCAR rifles and this will be my second purchase of this same charging handle. I have not tried the others but i’ve watched videos on the others. This handle is easy to wrap your fingers around and get leverage for your pull because of the angle. One reviewer here said the angle on the KDG handle negated the extended length. I wholeheartedly disagree. Even if you weren’t racking your knuckles on your scope mount you’d want this charging handle because the stock handle is simply too short to allow you a confident pull every time in all conditions. Not only is the stock handle small / short it’s also slippery. This handle can also be turned around so it curves up so if you’re doing a cross body, over the top charge of your rifle you will get a really good purchase of the handle and again.. that angle is key to it’s effective grip. The best part about buying from Optics Planet is that I get a discount for writing my review AND they have this in FDE cerakote. I was about to purchase this from someone else… but they did not have the FDE… Optics Planet gets my business because they offer this option and they give a discount after you write a review. Love Optics Planet. One piece of advice, take it or leave it. I use RINGS on both of my SCARS because of the charging handle. This way i’m not dealing with a QD mount sticking out, waiting to destroy my knuckles.

This is well made. The issue is with the T shaped curve in the handle. It forces your finger closer to the rifle and the downward angle of the charging handle doesn’t make up for it. I went with the GG&G angled charging handle.

Worth the wait, excellent quality craftsmanship for the scar

Being a Scar user for many years and downrange. Many in the field would hit their hand on optics while charging their weapon. The Kinetic Development Group Scar Charging Handle changes this, not to mention a more positive grip during charging. We have these on two of our weapons platforms and highly recommend their use.

The most disliked issue with the SCAR Heavy is the reciprocating charging handle. This quality little upgrade has made my rifle so much more functional. Great customer service & price. It’s always a great experience with Optics Planet. Highly recommend
