I have used KNS internals, such as this one being reviewed, in quite a few builds. The parts are called "turned" and now they are being coated with a nitride black finish. Check out the push button pivot and take down pins too.

Great little piece from KNS. This is the only one of these that is Stainless and Nitride treated. As always I’m in stock parts, the shipping was fast shipping from Optics Planet. I have purchased several things lately from OpticsPlanet & they come through again.

Love the steel nitride finish that gives good wear and corrosion resistance. The tip is shaped right so that it gives a good snap to my safety versus a mil-spec detent. Very recommended for any build.

Inconsistent machining with these. I'm not sure if it's just because they arent changing the tooling as often as they should, or if they are hiring toddlers. Some are smooth, some are ribbed, some are pointed, some are rounded, and some are off center. I'm not sure whats going on over at KNS, but they used to produce some quality stuff. Maybe it's just the pandemic frenzy. Regardless, I don't thinnk these companies should be dropping their QC. If you buy them…buy extra.

Ive seen acouple reviews about rust & inconsistent machining but ive used KNS detents, plunger, anti-walk pins, etc … to build 2 different guns and so far I haven't had any issues with KNS products. I like that their SS and Nitride dipped which not too many are and thats why I keep going back to KNS. Plunger snd detents when coated in Mil-Com TW25B grease or Slip2000 EWL 30w are extremely slick and provide a great snap to the safety selector. Takedown pin detents and bolt release plunger also feel great. So far only con for me is that these little parts can be quite pricey sometimes depending where their bought from.
