The pistol buffer and spring combo was just the thing my PCC needed to function correctly. With the previous buffer the bolt was traveling to fast and was causing the bolt catch to break. I was shooting 147 grn 9mm
Tim –
300 blk AR pistol with 10.5” barrel (pistol length gas system) would not cycle subsonic without a suppressor attached. Replaced original Maxim standard buffer/spring combo with H3 buffer/spring and problem solved. The original spring was shorter and stiffer. The spring with the H3 is longer by about 3/4” but compresses easier, allows more travel. Now it runs well suppressed or unsuppressed.

This was installed on an ar15 lower converted to an ar9. This little compact buffer is for use in the shorter maxim pdw tube. It provides just enough weight and length for a compact, smooth shooting ar9 conversion. The spring is buttery smooth and quiet, meeting the expectations you would have when sinking a bit more money into your system. In other words, it makes it "feel" like the extra money you are spending, verses a generic buffer system. There is ONE caveat. This system will NOT work if you attempt to use it on a freedom ordinance 9mm. First, the brace/stock system cannot be used becuae of the FX9 width. Second, the FX9 BCG is shorter and the length of the 9mm buffer will not allow the BCG to come back far enough to load the next round.

Well as we all have done I ruined several of these springs and needed replacements. These actually are a bit beafier making them less like to get bent or jammed up especially when putting on the end plate and castle nut
