Just got it today, installed it on my stripped AR-15 pistol. The length from the trigger to the fully extended butt of the stock is less than 13". Build quality is top notch, no complain about the weight. A bit pricey, but then again you get what you paid for.

I bought this brace three times-two of which the buffer tube in the spring was for a pistol caliber, I believe. This prevented the weapon from locking back all the way after the mag was empty. On the brace which works, it's fantastic. I tried calling and emailing Maxim, but to my knowledge, did not hear back. Make sure you order one with the correct spring and tube.

This is for a "PISTOL CALIBER CARBINE" NOT A "AR PISTOL with a Rifle caliber" It comes with the WRONG buffer spring and buffer. If you try and install it on your "RIFLE CALIBER PISTOL" you wont be able to lock the bolt back because the buffer is too long and wont let the bolt travel all the way back. Optics Planet and Maxim need to be more clear about this in their descriptions. Hopeful that Maxim will let me swap it out. If I have to shell out another $65 for another buffer and spring then I will just return the whole thing and buy the SB tactical one via another retailer. On the bright side installation was very easy.

Unfortunately I purchased this product knowing I could not return the product if it didn't function with my mil-spec AR-15 bolt and carrier. That is the misleading part, I should have given more thought when reading one of the very first reviews of the product as shown on Optics Planet. Bought many items on OP and I quote from the review which I suggest you do "This is a great brace, but………….you cannot run a milspec (regular sized) bolt carrier group with it. The bolt face will not lock correctly, as in the bolt face will sit forward of the bolt catch. You will need to purchase a shorter BCG from Maxim Defense and an additional buffer that runs with it". The reviewer was correct.That said its a quality part, just disappointed that OP allows misleading product data to be sold on their website and sells such product as final sale, no return, no refund. I have spent thousands of $'s on OP and feel like I was duped or taken advantage of. This review may never get posted but hey the asked for my input.
