Everyone had convinced me that the 5.56 NATO round was accurate so I bought the Ruger Ranch rifle in that caliber. I loved the action but the stock did not fit me at all. The MDT Field Stock is adjustable and way more comfortable. I now use iron sights, a red dot, and a 3x12x44 scope on this rifle. While this is a true "drop in" fit, there is a very specific way it needs to be installed and not enough instructions. I needed a 1/4 inch drive 3/16th hex socket, an extension, and a inch pound torque wrench. The mag release needs to be built after the action is torqued. There were no instructions for that either. Take your time, think ahead, and do it right. You won't be disappointed !!

I got the stock for a Ruger American Predator and when bolting the action into the stock the bolt provided protruded into the action itself. I called and asked for different screws and they said we don’t have different screws just file them down. What on earth? File down the provided screws for the drop in stock?

Can’t really review this item. It arrived missing the magazine release latch. Wasn’t even in the box to install. I returned immediately for exchange but I have not received it yet. I’ll post a real review when I get my exchanged stock.

I didn’t care for the original stock that comes on the American Ruger gen 2 it’s just floppy and feels really cheap so I decided to give this a try since I have other MDT chassis and love them. The gun fit perfectly and was super easy to install. I’m giving it 4 stars because I bought a polymer AICS mag to go with it and when it’s inserted it moves around a lot but it could just be the polymer mag I’ll try a metal mag later but even with all the movement the gun cycled all ten rounds flawlessly. So if you’re looking for a good stock for a good price this is it. Also there’s no instructions on how to put the mag release in but it’s pretty simple. Put the small retaining pin in first to hold the spring in place while you compress the mag release then get the longer retaining pin and punch it in till it’s flush.

I ordered the stock for my Ruger American 22 ARC. I could not use it for my 22 ARC but it was perfect for my 6.5 Creedmoor.

This stock fit 100% perfect. Looks and feels great. A good addition to make this rifle that much better without breaking the bank.
