Replace your stock on your Tikka T3, Remington 700 or one of many other bolt action rifles with our tactical chassis! Our LSS Chassis was designed for use with short barreled bolt action rifles. It converts your rifle to an external box magazine fed rifle, while improving accuracy, and giving the rifle superior ergonomics by allowing use of AR-15 butt-stocks and grips. Our MDT LSS Chassis System is onto the next generation. The LSS Gen2 is an update of our popular LSS chassis. The LSS Gen2 chassis system now sports a bold and modern new look inspired by the contours of our more recent chassis lines like the ESS, ACC & LSS-XL Gen2, and is lighter than ever (1.3 to 1.7lb depending on the model). Our LSS chassis system was designed to be as compact as possible. The V-shaped bedding and free floated forend improve accuracy and ergonomics. The forend allows for barrel contours up to 1″ in diameter. The graphic on the right shows the two flat spots (V-block) where the action sits. The area below the action remains rounded to ultimate strength. The chassis system is manufactured out of billet 6061-T6 aluminum and has been finished with Cerakote in Black or Flat Dark Earth (FDE). To keep this chassis system compact, it was designed for carbine AR-15 buttstocks. However, fixed buttstocks can be mounted with the use of a fixed stock adapter. Alternatively, our LSS-XL Gen2 chassis has a longer forend and was designed to accept fixed buttstocks without the use of the adapter. The LSS chassis is designed to accept any AR-15 buttstock and pistol grip (purchased separately), offering the option to customize from the wide variety of Accessories available on the market. The LSS chassis uses AICS style external box style magazines in .223 and .308 caliber for Short Action and .300WM or .338LM AICS style magazines for Long Action rifles, and supports the installation of bolt-on MIL-STN-1913 accessory mounting rails. Note: Long action magazines come in 4 different lengths: 3.560″, 3.715″, 3.775″ and 3.850″. The LSS chassis for long action uses 3.715 length magazines with the exception of the Tikka T3 which needs the 3.560″ length magazines. The max thickness of recoil lug recommend is .350″ (8.9mm) The LSS chassis system comes as a 1-piece chassis, with all required mounting hardware included. This includes new action screws and a screw for the pistol grip. To complete this chassis on your rifle, the additional items you need to purchase are: Any AR-15 buttstock, like the TRYBE Defense Rifle Buttstock & Buffer Tube. For fixed buttstocks, you will need the fixed stock adapter, or consider using our LSS-XL Gen2 chassis. A buffer tube for your buttstock. (Both mil-spec and commercial work on our chassis) An AR-15 Pistol Grip. Ideally without a beavertail, or use a soft (bendable) beavertail. At least one magazine If you prefer a longer forend, please also see our LSS-XL chassis System or our HS3 Chassis System. IMPORTANT NOTES Howa 1500 / Weatherby Vanguard Short Actions This is the only action that we manufacture a chassis for that has a flat bottom action. For this reason, only our Polymer magazines will work. The fitting may need to be modified slightly for proper feeding. For .223 models the bolt stop may be too long. This can easily be modified. This also means that the action does not sit in a V-Block. Savage models 10/110 11/111 12/112 16/116 For rifles with the bolt release at the bottom, the bolt release can be engaged through the side of the chassis, using a pin or tool. (Not included) Savage Long Action in 338 Lapua Magnum Savage Long Action Chassis systems all use 3.715″ AICS magazine wells. The BA 110 in 338 Lapua Magnum uses 3.850″ magazines and have recently switched to a thicker recoil lug which will not fit our chassis. We have released a version of the ESS which is specifically designed around the current BA 110 in 338 Lapua Magnum. Tikka T3 / T3x – Long Calibers Only our Metal 3.56 magazine will fit with the chassis for this action and needs to be purchased separately. Savage Axis The original recoil lug that comes with the rifle is required for installation into the chassis. On the Long Action, you will need to use 30.06 3.56 Magazine Ruger American The action screw is located directly above the magazine lever. This means that the magazine lever needs to be installed AFTER installing the action into the chassis. Detailed instructions are provided, and an installation video can be found here. Ruger American in 223/5.56mm requires the use of this magazine Does not work with 300 Blackout It will fit Predator and Ranch versions. Please read notes on magazines for 223/556 rifles. Ruger Scout Drop-In for Ruger Gunsite Scout rifles only. Will not fit older Tang safety Ruger M77. Mark II and Hawkeye short action will bolt in, but modifications to the magazines and ejector may be required. Rifles with two- stage triggers will also require modifications to the chassis. The Ruger Gunsite Scout in 223/5.56mm requires the use of this magazine DIMENSIONS Dimensions shown are based on Remington 700 Short Action. It can be shorted significantly using a carbine (collapsible) buttstock. If you prefer using a fixed rifle stock, take a look at our LSS-XL chassis. I just can’t say enough about this chassis. The fit and finish are flawless and it fits like a glove. Every single edge is perfectly engineered and machined to be practical to the feel and aesthetically pleasing to the eye.The only thing I would change is adding about 2” to the forend but that is not a deal breaker.I highly recommend. Well done, MDT.

Firstly, you do NOT need the MDT fixed stock adapter, its threaded for a Mil-Spec buffer tube. Secondly, this adds so much more stability, rigidity, and consistency to the rifle. No problem with varmit contour or factory contour. Comes with action mounting screws only. For recoil lug, drill a small hole into the bottom of the factory stock, heat up the lug with a lighter, then tap the lug or the the drill bit can also push it out. Then it drops right into new chassis. Use blue loctite on every screw, and make sure all threads are clear of build up prior to installation. Honesty you could use this for competition and hunting with ease. If you werent sure about committing to one or the other, this is definitely a hybrid. M-lok slots are nice for weights, bipods, or whatever attatchment pleases your needs. Very easy to creat a center balance for competition, I didnt even need weights. My first 3 groupings with the new chassis, i achieved two 1/2 inch groups, and the 3rd being 1/4 inch (Never shooting better than 7/8 inch consistently with the last stock). Coincidence? I think not.

Action sits too high in the chassis, causing insufficient bolt face contact to cartridge during feeding. Result is misfeeding. This can be fixed by upward pressure on magazine. The chassis looks gorgeous but lack of functionality renders it worthless to me. I’ve been underwhelmed by MDT in the past and again this time.

This is the only chassis I could find for my Ruger M77. Overall it's pretty decent. I had to open up the tip of the forend a bit with a sanding drum to fit my barrel so that it wouldn't rub. I wish the forend was a bit more rigid, you can feel it spring a bit if you grab it and the barrel together and squeeze but do far it hasn't been a problem. In order to use a single shot magazine I had to mill the rear corners of the magazine down about .100" so that they would clear the action. You could mill the action but I decided that I wanted to leave it stock in case I ever decide to switch stocks in the future and just modify any mags I get for this setup. An m4 buffer/ stock and pistol grip went right on no problems and my Timney trigger fit the chassis with no modifications needed.

This chassis fit very well, and only took a couple of minutes to install on a mossberg action. My particular model uses ar10 mags instead of AICS, which is a huge plus to me. This chassis added less than a pound to the overall weight of the rifle compared to the factory stock. All in all, I would definitely purchase again.

It was an expensive purchase but I can now say it was worth every penny. It's obvious that it was built by shooters!
