I bought this Midwest Industries handguard and I have falling ing in love with it. It reminds me of my M4 handguards. But the difference is that this handguard is free floated. I'm considering buying another one for my other AR-15. My other AR has the M-LOK rails and the M-LOK rails keep coming loose. I want something that will hold steady while I'm shooting.

Mine was damaged enough that OP offered a partial refund because I didn’t want to go through the hassle of returning it. Aside from the main issue (more of a blemish) the overall finish is surprisingly bad compared to my expectations. I need a free floated quad rail of this length, and because of that and my lack of desire to pay $400, I bought this. If I were to buy again, I might save for the DD, as it is the only other option. The fit is very tight (like will mar your upper receiver tight) at the anti rotation tabs.Overall, I would say this is an ok value with disappointing finish and extremely tight fit. If you have a hard price restriction and need more length than the QRF then you don’t have another option. Maybe that’s why they didn’t pay attention to the little details: they are the only game in town. It feels very solid, and will mount accessories with 1913 compatibility.

Wanted a longer quad for a 16 inch build. Not a ton of options out there in this length that aren't uber pricey. I have uber pricey quads on other builds and this one holds its own against them but at half the cost.

Great quality product as usual from Optics Planet. This hand guard removes the need of having to attach the little M-Lock rail panels to attach your light, laser, etc.

I really really like this handguard it’s strong and it was very easy to install. It makes my gun look like an M4, and I appreciate it that it came with everything in the box to install. I would say get some rail covers because the rails are a little uncomfortable to hold with your hand unless you have gloves on.

My first MI product was one of their earlier generation Keymod rails. It's slim, lightweight, and is good quality without breaking the bank. I wanted to go a little "old school" with my next build… so I went with a quad rail. Whilst it is heavier compared to let's say a Keymod/M-Lok rail… I don't have to worry about accessories working loose. The great thing about the newer generation rails is that you don't have to time the barrel nut, just torque it to correct spec and you're GTG. Combined with the anti-rotation tabs and the great included directions and it makes installation relatively painless. I would put MI in the mid-tier of rails. It won't get you chicks like the higher end rails… but it won't break the bank either.
