Let me start by saying I am not a precision shooter. I’m self defense oriented. Hitting a steel plate at 1000 yards is cool, but that’s not my thing. That being said, who is going to use this iron sight to shoot 1000 yards?Anyway to the review. I love this combat rifle rear flip up sight by Midwest Industries. It is well made and low profile. It does not switch between a small and large aperture, instead it uses a single medium aperture. There is no futzing around, it just works. If you use it with a red dot, holographic, reflex, etc; the sight picture is so clean. I actually switched from a lower 1/3 co-witness to an absolute co-witness with my Holosun HS510C because it was so clean and fast. I can’t recommend this thing enough.

I have tried countless back up irons over the years; especially rear sights. This one is my favorite. It has a very slim profile so it doesn’t occlude the sight picture like some others do.I find it pairs well with an assortment of front sights. I currently use it with an A2 front sight post, a Magpul MBUS PRO front sight, and the Midwest Industries fixed HK front sight.I don’t much care for it’s front sight companion but this rear sight is awesome.
