I admit I’m a Noveske fan boy, but I love this barrel. Noveske barrels have that little attention to detail that give me peace of mind. Pair that with their great gas block, it’s a no brained every time I’m in the market for a new CHF barrel.

I bought a Noveske 14.5" Chrome-Lined Mid-Length Skinny Barrel in 2014, and it has performed flawlessly. This barrel is marked "(Noveske symbol) MP 5.56 NATO 1/7". This Skinny model is very lightweight, and it comes with a low-profile gas block that is match drilled. It includes a pin to pin it in place for a robust attachment, as well as set screws if you choose to use them. This barrel has been plenty accurate paired with an Aimpoint T-2.

I bought this barrel thinking it would be a lot more accurate then the faxon barrels I usually buy, i can't really tell any difference between them accuracy, the milling on the faxon barrels looks better. Cold hammer forged is nice, also with a chrome lining that stays very accurate. I would recommend but if you don't have the extra money get a criterion.

This is an amazing barrel. The gas timing on it is 4:00 with an H2 buffer and the accuracy is outstanding. I can easily ring steel out to 400 yards with an Aimpoint 2 MOA dot and M193 ammo. The profile of this barrel is really nice as well. It’s what the government profile should be. A little heavier toward the rear and tapers toward the front. The pinned gas block is rock solid.

I have ordered several Noveski barrels in the past and the barrels are pretty good. Unfortunately this order when I opened the box that looked like it had the original tape that seals the box but when I opened it it was missing the little bag That contains the gas tube role pin and the most important tapered steel pin that locks the included gas block to the barrel. I used my bore scope to check the condition of the bore and it is one of the better ones I have received from Noveski so I rather not have to send it back and they can send me the pins. Gas tube pin is no big deal but I’m not sure if the missing tapered gas block pin is an individually fitted and matched pin specifically for the already drilled barrel.

Noveske makes arguably the best AR barrels on the market, and the CHF Chrome Lined Lo-Pro line are my go to for builds. In my opinion, the 14.5 is compromise between adequate velocity and maneuverability in close quarters.
