It looks great. It is Easy to install. It is made from quality materials and the shipping was quick and painless. Will likely buy another one at some point. It is not too heavy. Would recommend this handrail to anyone especially if they are building a mk12 clone.

A must for you MK12 build. The gen 3 is superior to gen 2. The best price available for this item was at optics planet with 10% off coupons offered all the time. I got it for 100 dollars less than was offered anywhere else. Installation is tricky so check PRI website for instructions when assembling.

If you're buying this handguard, you're buying it for a specific purpose most likely. The handguard is great and really solid. However, it doesn't come with the wrench to tighten the handguard down, so make sure you order that. Also, the barrel nut may not align with the usual torque so a spare might come in handy. Mine was a pain to install and get gas tube alignment to the point I had to torque it to 75 ft-lbs, 10 more than spec and only 10 fewer than the upper receiver TDP spec.

I purchased a rifle-length, natural PRI Gen III for a “Mk 12 tribute” build. I have to say, this is probably the stoutest AR handguard I’ve ever handled, with a simple, rock-solid mounting system. Combined with a full-length top rail, it might as well be a monolithic upper.Oh, and did I mention it’s lightweight?I may end up slowly switching all of my AR builds (even my .308s) over to PRI handguards.

PRI does not include instructions with anything they make. So you best have some skills before attempting to install their components. Installation requires a strap wrench or their custom wrench, which is just stupid that they make you buy it for $10. You do need one of these because I got it as tight as possible by hand and it worked loose on the first trip to the range. The rail interfaces with the barrel nut so it is critical that the barrel nut is lined up correctly. It is very difficult to get it to align top dead center without the use of the recce rail. If you place loctite on the hand guard threads, use a very small amount. The threads are fine and I was unable to get it back apart without a heat gun.

The handguard itself, was pretty good. The cerakote was kind of all over the place in thickness, between 2 and 9 mils. and for $350, I feel like getting someone who can apply cerakote consistently should be something they can accomplish. For reference, most things are in the firearms industry are around +2 or +3. Also, on the inside of the tube, there was about 4 pieces, about 3-4 inches long, of what looked like dental floss hanging inside. It might be part of the form for the carbon fiber? maybe the weave itself or from drilling holes?, and prob not a big deal, I just got some wire and stuck in it there so i could get some pliers on it and pull it out or snip it, but again, when you spend this much, having someone clip things like that off, during qc before shipping, seems like a no brainer. And the last and most annoying thing, they dont include a wrench for tightening the handguard. BCM, Aero, Midwest Industries, strike industries, and pretty much every other brand i can think of, include a way to tighten their handguard, Not with PRI. If you want the Gen 3 forearm wrench, that'll be another $15. Could make it more clear that it isnt included, its super annoying to order something, think you are ready to go, assuming it will be like every other handguard on earth, only to not have the item that is usually included. Then you have to wait, put in another order, and everything that goes with it. Seems like a unnecessary corner to cut, for them to save the couple dollars that it would cost them to include the cheap spanner wrench that is the "Gen 3 forearm assembly tool".
