Great fit on loaded M1A. Also looks badass! Adjustable cheek piece is key for optics. As any m1 shooter knows, a scope sits pretty high on the rifle. The pistol grip is a great fit. Love the integrated picatiney rail.

Rifle: Springfield M1A StandardFirst thing, this stock is not to be compared to the high end $800 to $3000 stocks, this was not made to compete with those, though the appearance could very well compete, the stock is in a different category. That said, this stock is of good quality make, material is durable, fits the receiver like it should. I've put at least 200 rounds through it and it works well. The functions work as it is meant to be, the receiver installed in just under 30 mins, no modification needed. I am from the gun deprived state of California and the package comes with an adapter that is used where the "pistol grip" is, to force your hand to sit high so that your weapon doesn't constitute as a assault rifle(or else you would need a bullet button of some sort). Don't ask for details, it hurts my tiny brain. As I said all the functions that I was looking for was there so I'm very satisfied with the purchase.

I purchased this stock to serve as my "working" rifle stock. The walnut stock that came with the rifle is beautiful, and I want to keep it that way for sentimental reasons (USMC 69-73).The Pro Mag fit and finish is great. The rifle assembled fine without any additional trimming. It is a snug fit – as it should be – but went together well. Pro Mag has a video that should be watched that was very helpful.

I have yet to install this stock on one of my M1A's but will do so shortly. After reading a test on a Springfield M1A with this stock I wanted to try one and Optics Planet had the black stock on sale. Looking at the stock it addresses all the problems with fitting that comes about when mounting a scope on these rifles. Shipping was excellent just like it is every time I have ordered from this company.

The pistol grip built into the stock makes the rifle much easier to hold in close and the adjustability of the stock is perfect with or without the scope. The only adjustment that had to be made was some minor grinding to allow the trigger assembly to lock to the barrel assembly.

Don’t listen to the other reviews complaining about how much modification you have to do to get your gun bedded into this stock. It’s supposed to be that way, and if you go onto the website and watch the manufactures videos, they have on YouTube about how to do this. It is worth taking your time to get the stock custom fit to your rifle. This improves accuracy by removing play. It was literally designed to have a small amount of file work and slight modification to make sure every last little part of your gun fits in there tight. There’s not much out there in the way of M1A stock upgrades… As far as a precision stock goes you’re easily going to spend $1000 or more dollars on a good one. I’m very impressed with the stock. Well made and built like a tank.
