Replaced the Accu Trigger in my Savage MarkII FXP rifle to reduce the trigger pull weight. Installed easily & seemed to work fine on the bench. When I got to the range and tried to chamber a round, the rifle dry fired upon closing the bolt. This happened several times. Upon removing the barrel from the stock and closely inspecting the trigger, it was apparent the notch on the trigger wasn’t deep enough to adequately engage the seer.I am attempting to use a diamond hone to slightly increase the depth of the trigger notch, but this should not be necessary if the trigger was correctly machined by Rifle Basiks.

This trigger was super easy to change out for me with no gunsmithing knowledge at all. It was also easy to adjust. It is now set at a crisp breaking 1 1/4 lbs and I can't wait to get to the range and see if I can tighten up my groups. I dropped 1 1/2 lbs of pull weight and lost any cream I may have had. Took about 10 minus to install.

I've been shooting a Savage MKII FV-SR in a Boyd's At-One Stock in ARA 22LR Benchrest shooting for the last couple of months…….. since I'v upgraded the stock they put me in Outlaw vs Factory….. I'm way out classed, so I'm doing the best I can with a $300 rifle vs $1800!!…….. Anyway after piller bedding the stock, and upgrading my scope (Vortex Venom 5-25X56) I swapped out the AccuTrigger (which I had cut the spring and had the pull weight down to 2lbs) to this Rifle Basix SAV-RAT trigger and set it at 1.25lbs trigger pull…… Excellent Upgrade for Competition……. it's not quite a Anschutz, but it's pretty darn good!……. As the directions suggested, I didn't install the set-screw to set the trigger creep, but now after shooting 50+ rounds at the range that will be my next "Tweek"………. if the trigger and firing pin sears were polished, I'm sure you could get a consistent clean break below 1 lbs……Very Nice upgrade for a Budget Rifle……..BTW my best score is 2100 so far with SK Standard ammo…….. as of this review I don't have a score with this trigger, because this last shoot was a charity shoot where the targets were coins in a "Show Me The Money" target

If your shooting a Savage MKII and want a 1.5lb trigger pull, with a clean crisp break the "Rifle Basix SAV-RAT" Trigger is the ticket!…….. Fairly easy to install, not to hard to adjust and when you hit the sweet spot….WOW!……Feels almost as good as a Anschutz!…… In my MKII the trigger had a little bit of side play so I add a very thin washer to one side…… your first adjustment will be the trigger pull spring, seems below one pound the sear doesn't engage 100% of the time…… I've got mine about 1.25lbs…….2nd adjustment sets the safety…….. they tell you to start without the "Trigger Creep" setscrew……. but that's the best part!…….. with that adjustment, you can set your trigger with "Zero" creep and a super clean break……. granted it's a $100 trigger in a $200 gun……. but it's like night and day……… for shooting squirrels not really necessary, but for ARA Benchrest shooting worth every penny!

Easy install, hard to set safely. Directions are not great, Rifle Basics should have a video for setting the trigger. Be careful and ensure of proper sear engagement while setting the trigger.
