very nice handguard, smooth and with enough mlok slots to attach whatever you want. This is the perfect handguard for a 3 gun setup. just enough picatinny on top of the guard for a front iron sight. very comfortable in the hand. I would definitely recommend this handguard

Like the sleek, modern look… It's sturdy and allows for a comfortable grip; but upon inspecting the package content, found out that the nut plate used to secure the handguard to the barrel nut was missing. Upon further inspection, the spacer used to lock the handguard in place with the barrel nut does not align with the screw holes in the handguard. The barrel nut also seems too short…it only extends far enough benefit from two of the three screws. Altogether, it appears as if the wrong set of hardware was shipped with the handguard. Awaiting to hear from OpticsPlanet, and/or Rise Armament for the corrent hardware, or to return the unit altogether. Will change review/rating upon resolution.

The barrel nut was machined too small and too short for the handguard. With the screws tighten to the point they were going to snap the handguard wobbled about a 1/4 inch. Also screws that come with it use very small allen key which isn't good for torquing down. Also the barrel nut was not flat on the surface that contacted the barrel. With the barrel nut tighten down the barrel was able to rock back and forth. All around this was a failure on a failure.

I was on the bubble about purchasing the Rise Armament RA-902 Stinger handguard given previous unfavorable reviews. A handguard that cannot be properly secured is a major safety risk. However, when I contacted Rise Armament customer service, they confirmed this was a known issue, but stated it had been resolved in the gen 2 version. They offered assurances that should I have any issues, they'd address it through the warranty process. It's surprising they haven't issued a recall for the faulty handguard. Unfortunately, the Rise Armament handguard that was shipped to me was also faulty. It literally flops around loosely on the barrel nut. I attempted to reach Rise Armament's Sales Team, Customer Service, and Help Desk, but none of them responded to multiple requests for assistance. I'm returning the RA-902 Stinger to Optics Planet. In the interest of safety, the manufacturer which has acknowledged this issue in writing, should pull these 1st gen versions from the distributors inventories.
