The simple clamping system uses cross bolts that fit into the proprietary barrel nut for a rapid and easy installation. NOTE: This is a G2 handguard designed to fit G2 receivers. Will not fit .308s with a fixed front sight. Replaced hand guard on my DPMS G2 Hunter. Applied a little heat to the old hand guard and the threads popped free, be sure to remove the gas tube and gas block first. The new hand guard came with the proprietary nut and everything fit nice and snug. Completely changed the look of my rifle!
