Works good, good finish with no sharp edges. The hexagonal blast can was oriented in a way that at the 6oclock forward most mlok slot the nut hit the muzzle device underneath the handguard, no issue as the blast can wasn't too tight like some ive replaced brand new. The flats on the muzzle device do allow space for the nut when oriented correctly. Side note, whoever installed that muzzle device originally had it clocked perfect. That little detail says alot about the assembly process it went through and even the manufacturing. After the lady gifted it to the man and he shot it function check I took apart some screws to check for loctite, i didnt notice any so when assembling I used a little bit. It is a very good upper, I am impressed. I was asked by a lady to help surprise her husband with one after she found out he was trying to purchase my full weapon, im regretting it because this thing is a laser, its beautifully machined too. I coulda just got me one of these after that. I chose endomags to be able to keep an ar15 lower so he can get different uppers if he choses bc this was his first ar platform and i know after i got mine I wanted different upper which turned to different lowers and so it goes so that option is still there for him. I've had great experiences with endomags especially for the purpose of being able to have the option to use other caliber uppers. Fitting can be bothersome but after that it works fine. The groups this made after zero were 4 inches by him, I did shoot it a few times but never focused for groups as i was confirming its fluid operation. Used a 6oz buffer, for those who are curious. I really appreciate this product and he loved it too. I fully recommend this product, and what sold me on this was the iv8888 video of their meltdown on YouTube. Lasted over 6k rounds running full auto using their magblock adapter, Im fully sold with Stern Defense and had to write a review for this because there are no others at this time and I was fully impressed with the product. I was confident enough to put this together for somebody else, now I'm jealous of it.

Quality build and flawless function. Handguard is just plain cool looking. Blast can is effective, much less noise then my other 9mm pistols (at least for the shooter) Accuracy seems ok but I have just been shooting standing unsuported. Paired with Stern Defense beretta magazine adaptor and couldn't be much happier unless they came out with a dedicated lower that took beretta mags. Just a blast to shoot

Wow this thing is accurate! Hole on hole at 25 yards, and i can reach out to 100 no problem nailing 12×12 plates! I’m using a regular h2 buffer and a mean arms endo mag conversion and man is this a lot of fun! I’ve put 350 rounds through it and it hasn’t missed a beat EXCEPT when i try n run Remington umc. I’m sure it’s the way the endo mag lines it up with the barrel. Pmc and Winchester I’ve had zero jams. I tried it on a friends 9mm lower and it actually has less recoil on my 5.56 lower with no change at all except the endomag. I’m thinking it needs a binary trigger lol!

I purchased the 8.5" upper and a Stern Glock mag adapter together. Check out my review of the adapter elsewhere. The two combined resulted in one the coolest, most fun shooting AR-style platform I've ever owned. The build of upper was tight. Every part torqued just right with no looseness or gaps anywhere. There was practically no seam between the upper and my random, no name AR lower. The finish was smooth without any discernible flaws in the paint/coating. The M-LOK handguard was finished very nicely with no razor sharp edges that you get from cheaply made Asian handguards (you know what I'm talking about) and the picatinny rails lined up perfectly with the upper. I disliked the cuts on the handguard until I realized they are a bunch of "S" for Stern Defense then I thought "okay, that's pretty slick". Charging handle is perfect for one handed racking. Bolt carrier rides very smooth with none of the grittiness you feel with with cheaper bolt carriers. I tested the build with about 400 rounds of UMC and S&B 115 gr FMJ, and 20 rds of Federal JHP at 50 yards on a steel plate. Using a 1.5X ACOG, the gun produced NO MISSES. Even walking up on the plate from 15 to 5 yards in rapid fire (semi-auto…private range) the gun was really controllable with barely any flip. Recoil felt like a 5.56, just lighter. So no slower or faster, just lighter. Mag changes with the adapter was slick, almost as fast as a standard AR tac reload. I also thought the muzzle blast can was chunky and looked like an afterthought until I started shooting it. It does a great job directing the noise and blast forward, helping make the gun more controllable. Although, I will probably switch it to something sexier later. Only complaint is how dirty the bolt and adapter got when I opened it up. Make sure you keep it clean! Otherwise, fat kudos to a very well built product!
