I was a big skeptical about this until I got it on sale. To have a tight lock up, I thought that it would be hard to put together quickly. But in all actuality, you can ram it together and keep rotating until it falls into place and keep rotating until it locks. Also saves on width because you can put it in front of the magwell in the negative space, instead of beside it with a folder.

This is one of the most innovative products I have seen in a while. I was skeptical as to how well this RAB-AD would function but now I am a believer. Installation was a breeze. The instructions are simple and it actually makes getting your takedown pin spring in easier. You just press the plate against the spring while tightening the internal part to the rear of your rifle and voila. It functions incredibly well too in that you just press the button and twist and it comes right apart. I went to the range and put a couple hundred rounds through it without issue. There was another review for this product that said it kept accidentally disengaging while firing but that is not possible. You literally have to hold the button down while twisting to take apart and there is no way you could do that by accident. At $140 this product is a great value and a great addition to any rifle.

Over all the fit and finish of this item is great. It looks really nice and the concept is really cool. I ordered several of these to play with, but I have only installed on a CMMG Banshee 300 Series in 9mm. I currently had a Law Tactical folding adapter installed, but I didn't like how thick the folded size was. My goal for this gun (and for nothing more than giggles) is to design and build a custom case as small as possible that didn't look like a gun case. With the Law Tactical folder it doubles the thickness which really blows my goal. So far, I think this will work perfect for that.I would have given this 5-stars except for three things….and really they are not big deal. If you like the idea and have the cash to drop…get one.First, the endplate would not fully seat. This left an unsightly gap that showed part of the springs. It looked hideous. However, I noticed that the "stick out" on the endplate was the problem. I am using a PWS Ratcheting system, but I tried various others from Daniel Defense, BCM, and quite a few randoms from my parts stash. They all had the same problem. Nevertheless, it was an easy fix…a few seconds on the 2×72 belt grinder with a fine grit belt and she fit like a charm. I didn't have to take much off at all, so you could do it with a good file as well. If that wouldn't have fix it…I would have sent it back based on that alone. I will admit that I am quite picky though.Second, with the buffer tube installed and ready to fire, there is a bit of rattle in the connection. Nothing crazy, but just enough you can visually see it, you can feel it, and you can definitely hear it. However, with a rattling adjustable stock installed I'm not sure you would even notice. I suppose it could compound so if you already have a sloppy stock. My third and final complaint, which is kind of a nitpick, is what happens to your bolt carrier when the buffer tube is detached. You can close the cover and the BCG won't slide out, but it does rattle quite a bit. My primary concern would be odd wear if I had this in it's future custom case and I was driving around on rough roads a lot (which I constantly do). I am probably crazy, but I like to take care of my gear. I will probably design and 3D print a plug with a pull loop that will keep it from rattling in storage. I'll put it up on Thingiverse as "RAB-AD B-Plug" when I get a chance. That is all I have for now….I'll take it to the range soon and put some rounds through it. However, I'm guessing that this will be just as reliable as the Law Tactical. I will update my review if I find otherwise.

This is awesome. I have half a dozen Law Tactical Folders and I've replaced three with these. For a compact setup, these really bit the bill. Folders can make the gun too thick and these allow you to detach and fit a rifle in a smaller area. I read a review about someone hitting the release button repeatedly with there hand? HOW? I'm a pretty big guy. 6'3" 220lbs and XL hands. I couldn't hit the button during normal shooting if I treid! Unless you have morbidly obese hands you are not accidentally hitting the button.
