I did a lot of research and decided to purchase the Troy Folding Battle Sight front and rear. I was a little confused about which height to put on my AR 15 with Eotech sight and magnifier, so I called the folks at Troy and their customer service representative explained the different sights and recommended the ones that I purchased form Optics Planet. The sights were very easy to install and pretty straight forward to zero. I know these sights are a little more expensive that some other brands but I think the quality is worth the difference. I was not disappointed and I plan to purchase another set for my next gun.

Bought the Troy sight because it is supposed to be the best. Can only compare the the Magpul Pro folding Buis. I like the locking button on the Troy sight. Gives a little more confidence when upright. Has a little play or looseness when upright but nothing that would cause an issue. The Magpul fits the back of the receiver better. The Troy does not contour to the back of the rail as well as the Magpul does. May have issues with operating the charging handle unless you have an oversize handle. Another small gripe is the lack of loctite on the threads of the Troy sight. The Magpul has loctite pre applied to the threads. Last issue is if you use the smaller peep sight on the Troy, it can not be folded down. It has to be changed to the larger circle in order to fold down. I'm using the Troy as a back up to my EOTech so it is folded 99% of the time but I prefer the smaller peep sight. I have to change it every time. The Magpul Pro will fold with the sight in either setting. Kinda expected more for the name and money. The Magpul is better all around in my opinion.

The product is excellent. The fit and finish is also perfect and with a little blue thread lock tight on the screw threads, the sight keeps it's zero. Well made product. This item is machines to close tolerances and fits directly onto a picatinny rail perfectly with no slippage. The anodized part fits the rail perfectly.I highly recommend this item.

The Troy Folding Battle Sight (rear) is the Gold Standard for back-up iron sights for the AR platform. I have them installed on all of my rifles that are outfitted with red dot sights. Superbly engineered, these sights are simple to install and adjust, and hold their zero with superb consistency. I give them my highest possible recommendation!Pros: Highest qualityCons: None

These have pretty much become the gold standard for ruggedness and reliability, I run them on all of my AR platform rifles. There are plastic/nylon versions out there that are OK but the weight difference is negligible, and the Troy sights are much more durable. As always, a quality product from Troy!

I realized, even though I purchased this some time ago, I had not reviewed this yet.I had another set of Troys on another rifle, and dug the heck out of them. Sometime ago, I decided to pick up a M&P Sport II to add to the collection, and it came with the Magpul polymer rear flip up. Nothing wrong with the sight, it worked fine and I love Magpul gear. But one thing always bugged me: when you flip up that sight, you get the peep hole, not the ghost ring first. In my mind, the ghost ring should be presented FIRST, and if you time for a longer shot, bring up the peep sight (which is still kind of hard to get at with your thumbnail). On the Troy, it's a matter of justing flipping the sight to whatever position you need. Excellent rugged sights.
