Installation Instructions Handguard Installation instructions In order to install your new handguard, you will need the following tools: 30mm Wrench 5/32″ Hex Screwdriver Thread Locker (optional) Once you have installed your barrel in your upper receiver, thread the barrel nut onto the upper and tighten down to 35-65 foot pounds. After you have installed your gas block and tube assembly, slide the handguard over the barrel nut. You may apply Loctite to the exterior of the barrel nut across the knurled surface for added grip. You will need to apply some force to the rail when going over the barrel nut as the knurling is designed to mar the interior surface of the rail, adding additional grip. Align the rail with your receiver and put the mounting screws in the drilled holes from the left side of the upper receiver and proceed to tighten them down to 3 foot-pounds (36 inch-pounds). Do not torque screws more than 3 foot-pounds. Exceeding this force may strip the threads. I bought two of these and this one (full top, 9 Inch, Flat dark earth) does not have as many issues as the shorter one. The QD mount does work! This one is also straight and not twisted like the other one. Looks like trybe has some massive quality variations.Unfortunately the barrel nut does not fit in this one either. I could probably force it but I'm worried that would strip the coating off and cause the exposed magnesium to corrode. It also didn't have screws like the other one did. It's not useable and will have to be returned.

I got the 12 inch version and was super surprised by just how light it was. I was skeptical about its strength because I was unsure how strong something this lightweight could be. After install I was delighted with how it felt. I had combined this with a faxon pencil barrel and my build was super well balanced at the magwell. The steel barrel nut that comes with it has 4 flat faces for an easy wrench install but is kind of checkered. The checkered scraped the the interior of the handguard a bit nothing major. Holding it I was intentionally trying to squeeze it hard to make sure it wasn't just gonna collapse on me. After a few trips to the range and some drill practice I love it. I have dropped it a couple of times with no dents or anything more than a scratch. Also be super sure you or your gunsmith do not torque the handguard screws more than 3ftlbs. Since it's a magnesium alloy you cant anodize it but it seems decent. If I got it ceracoated which might be my plan in the future the new strong finish would make it perfect. The 4 stars is because the qd holes aren't the standard size for qd slings.

This is a great handguard its lightweight and seams very well made. I put it on a SBR 300blk build I’m working on and I have to say it looks beautiful on it. It’s fde color is slightly darker than the Aero Precision fde, just an fyi.

There is a very noticeable difference from aluminum handguards I have purchased in the past. This product is much more lighter than aluminum. The product was well packaged. I really liked the clear plastic it comes in, makes the product easy to see and look nice.

Easy to install, super lightweight, and extremely cool looking. Changed the balance on my 7.62×39 AR15 and it feels so much better now. Rifle weighs 8lbs loaded now. Only problem I have is the textured barrel nut bites material off the inside of the handguard with every install and removal so it gets shavings everywhere and could possibly affect fitment if you kept removing it.

I bought this rail for a budget lightweight build as a cheaper alternative to the carbon fiber rails out there and was excited by the advertised weight. The 12 inch handguard real weight is 5.7 ounces not the advertised 4.86. When you include the barrel nut the total weight is 9.5 ounces which albeit is lower than aluminum handguards makes the weight savings vs durability reduction in moving to a softer metal much more of a dubious decision.
