I ordered this for myself for Christmas due to the price and good reviews. Cannot beat the price!I was skeptical that it would not fit my new S&W M&P 15 Sport II Optics Ready since I do not have iron sites. My gun only came with a Crimson Trace Red/Green Dot Optics and now an even heavier Vortex StrikeFire 2 red dot with the free rebate from S&W. I could not find any videos or reviews saying this actually for sure 100% worked with the Optics Ready M&P15 and it fits perfect! I will say it was a little tough to install but after a few tries, it dropped right in and fits super tight. I really wish I could add a few pictures but not seeing the option.This VISM handguard absolutely differentiates the modern budget S&W M&P 15 from others and for the price, forget about it!Would recommend this handguard over and over a hundred times!The VISM handguard doesn't appear it would be that heavy but, it is now quite a bit more front heavy. Due to the added weight I am now ordering a foregrip to attach to the bottom picatinny rail and a sling.

I looked long and hard for a rail that would fit the DPMS. I read 1 other review here that it dropped in and fit the orical. Boy, did it. The fit is perfect. I was concerned about the front sight knockout but the rail piece from the rifle fits it as it was made for it. Again, beautiful design and installed flawlessly.

I just received this VISM extended handguard (three days earlier than specified – which is ALWAYS a good thing) today, and honestly wasn't expecting too much. This was a great price compared to what I could find anywhere else, and I've been wanting to have a little more rail length on top of my S&W M&P15 Sport II carbine in order to add a 3x magnifier behind my red dot optic… so I figured I'd try it out.After an install time of all of about 45 seconds, I was blown away. For a 'less expensive' handguard, it is solid as a rock! The fit & finish is extremely good and the M-LOK rail sections that come with it are rock solid as well. The slot on the bottom half that the forward sling mount of the A2 post/gas block fits through had me worried about how it would look & function. However this is evidently very well engineered. It looks as if it could've been OEM, and still allows the sling to be used if you want to. In fact the ONLY part of the rifle that is NOT usable with this handguard is the bayonet lug. Not too disappointed there, as I haven't had to 'fix bayonets' very often around here. My favorite part is how well the added inch or so of rail on the aft end of the top piece bridges to the end of rail on the upper. A lot of different rail systems that I've seen leave a gap there, or aren't exactly level at the same height.This solves any need you might have for added rail space on a carbine. You could add a ton of additional gadgets if you want, or simply be able to move things around as I did.Bottom line is this: don't hesitate to pick this handguard up if you're looking for one. Every box got checked when they designed this thing. VISM exceeded all expectations with this.

Works and fits perfect on my 16 inch PSA freedom classic upper, allows for mounting of a laser unit and or light in front of A2 front sight gas block, while maintaining the ability to keep the same classic sling mount, side and bottom rails can be removed to make it more sleek or accept mlok flashlight attachments. 10/10

I bought this hand guard as a replacement for the plastic short hand guards that my S&W M&P15 came with. My AR15 was the “ready for optic” configuration meaning there was no metal front sight or rear sight. As this is my first time buying this product, I wasn’t sure it would line up perfectly with the gas block on my rifle. As I took off the plastic hand guards, the VISM hand guard lined up perfectly based on my estimation. As I pushed in the bottom piece of the new hand guard, no problems or issues. Installing the top piece, it slid in perfectly but I needed to wiggle slightly where the delta ring and it all came together perfectly. I had no issues screwing in the 6 hex screws it came with. Should I have another rifle type like the M&P15 sport 2, I wouldn’t hesitate ordering it again as it’s light, it makes my barrel free-floating and it’s very long for any additional accessories I might want to add. Good thing it’s all M-LOK and came with some additional rails pre-installed. Happy with the purchase and would order again if needed.
