I personally like the clamp on style of gas block better. I feel it has a better lock up on the barrel, and particularly a better seal on the barrel (which is important in a gas operated system). There are other clamp on style gas blocks out there that are easily twice the price of Yankee Hill's, but this one is wholely adequate. I've used these on several builds and have never had an issue. My rifles perform very well utilizing this gas block. Another thing thats nice about using a clamp on versus a set screw style block, is if you have issues with the barrel (like a dimple that is offset) it wont affect your ability to properly index the block. Overall, this block is a win-win. A rock solid product and a great price.

This is a perfect low profile gas block Yankee hill has high quality control and this product is perfect this fit perfect no problems the price is great you don't have to go crazy on a gas block you just need a good block at a great price and this is a perfect option the only down side and the reason I gave it 4 stars is this did not come with a dent pin for installation that's like 2 bucks to buy…

This gas block is no longer like the picture. It has changed to the usual run of the mill "pinch at the bottom" type block. THAT SUCKS! I even went to YHM website and checked it out. Yeah it's still YHM, and its nice quality, but the clamp style feature is what I liked about it the most. It was a great improvement over the pinchy style. I wish I knew they weren't making them the same any more or I would have bought a few when I had a chance.

And it probabaly won't fit most handguards on the market. Unless it's a quad rail type or fat tubular carbon fiber handguard. Like another customer said the bottom half is too big. Gonna sell this and buy a VLTOR or Daniel Defense low profile clamp-on gas block.
Cloyce Spears –
This is not a low profile gas block. it will not clear your free float hand rail, the bottom of the block is too big and uses way to big of screws to secure it. I tried to use it with my UTG super slim hand rail and ended up having to alter it just to get it to not push my hand rail down away from the barrel. Upon further investigation I had to remove it completetly and buy a different brand.

Bought them for all my AR’s. Don’t have to worry about dimples or set screws easy to readjust, great gas block.
